Minimum Qualifications for Admission Test

1. Academic Qualifications:

  • SSC and HSC: Combined GPA of 8.0 in both SSC and HSC with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in each
  • GCE O-Levels and A-Levels: O-Levels in five subjects with an Average Grade Point of 2.5 or above and A-levels in two subjects with an Average Grade Point of 2.0 or above.
  • US High School Diploma, IB Diploma Programme (IB-DP), or equivalent
  • Academic qualifications other than the above need to contact Admissions Office to check the eligibility.
  • Foreign applicants should send their academic transcripts and the name of two referees for initial screening to admissions@northsouth.edu. After verification, Admissions Office will contact them about their eligibility for admission.

2. Specific programs requirements:

  • For all Engineering programs (BS in CSE, EEE, and CEE) of the School of Engineering & Physical Sciences, candidates must have -
    • Math and Physics with a minimum B grade in HSC
    • Math & Physics with minimum C & E grade respectively in A-Levels
    • Math and Physics with a minimum C grade in O-Levels AND must have Math or Physics with a minimum C grade in A-Levels to be eligible to apply.
  • For B.Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture) The program must have Math or Physics with a minimum B grade in HSC or C grade in A-Levels to be eligible to apply.
  • For Biochemistry and Microbiology, candidates must have Biology and Chemistry at SSC/HSC or O/A-levels to be eligible to apply.
  • For BPharm, candidates must have -
    • Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum ‘A’ grade in SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent separately.
    • Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum ‘B’ grade in A-Levels.

- A two and a half hours admission test consisting of English Grammer & vocabulary, Quantitative Aptitude (General Math), Reading comprehension, and composition. In addition, there will be a 30-minutes drawing test for the Bachelor Of Architecture candidates. The Quantitative Aptitude part of the Admission Test requires the ability to solve SSC/O-level math problems. Applicants are advised to revise their math skills.

Admission test is waived for Foreign students. They don't need to sit for the admission test.

- Usually, a student has to take a minimum of 15 credits or 5 course. He/She can take a maximum of 27 credits or 9 courses  in a semester.
But it depends on the department and student CGPA.
- We provide financial Aid/ Scholarship based on admission tests with academic merit evaluation. We provide up to 100% Merit Scholarships to the TOP TEN scorers in the admission test and over 100 more Scholarships up to 75%. We provide scholarships for freedom fighter's children, sibling's waivers.

- Though we allow a candidate to sit for the admission test before publishing the HSC/A level result as an appeared student, he/she must show the result before taking admission.
- The candidate has to email through admissions@northsouth.edu by mentioning the name and confirmation code and what program he/she will take in terms of the previous one.
- It completely depends on a student which program he/she will choose. Though NSU focuses on each program with the highest priority. All of our teachers have been completed their masters from esteem foreign institutions.

- During the verification process candidate's original copy of SSC & HSC or 'O' & 'A' level result will be verified.

- Once a student is graduated from North South University, he/she is academically qualified to face challenges in professional life.

- The admission test is held two times each year at NSU. One admission test for each semester.

- A-Levels (appeared) candidates may sit for the admission test on the basis of undertaking that they will not be admitted unless they pass the A level exam and before showing the ultimate A-Levels result with minimum GPA required for admission at NSU.

The admission test is waived for eligible candidates with the following:
1. SAT score 1150 (1600 scale) or 1700 (2400 scale OR
2. IELTS 7.0 OR
3. TOEFL scores: Paper-Based Test (PBT) 563 OR
Computer-Based Test (CBT) 223 OR
Internet-Based Test (IBT) 85
However, students with admission tests waived against IELTS or TOEFL scores will not be eligible to get admission in BS Economics, BPharm, and any of the engineering programs (B.Arch., CSE, ETE, EEE & CEE)

  • (d) Candidate's two copies of passport size photographs with parent's photographs (one of each) and photocopy of parent's National ID card or passport

Last 12 years education (HSC/ A-levels / Equivalent)  completion more than 5 years not accepted and for Pharmacy  completion more than 2 years not acceptable.

New Candidates (Freshers) need to have an offer letter and bank slip for advising (Course Registration).

For BPharm,  candidates must have -
       A)Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum ‘A’ grade in SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent separately.
       B)Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum ‘B’ grade in A-Levels.
